FAQs about hotels in Dublin

Great History, Greenery & Pubs

Dublin is home to more than a quarter of the entire Republic of Ireland’s population and was originally founded as a Viking settlement. A lot has changed from those Viking days, and Dublin is now famous for its literary history and the most green spaces of any European capital, making Dublin a real Irish gem.

Dublin Castle is at the heart of the city's history and Trinity College houses the renowned Book of Kells, a beautifully illustrated manuscript from circa 800 AD. The Ha’penny Bridge is the city’s most photographed landmark and the statue of Molly Malone celebrates the heroine of Dublin’s unofficial anthem.

Dublin is home to many important literary figures including Oscar Wilde, William Yeats, Samuel Beckett and George Bernard Shaw. As the famous location of James Joyce’s “Ulysses”, the city offers tours tracing the protagonist’s footsteps.

As one of the youngest European cities, Dublin has vibrant nightlife with the popular Temple Bar area and plenty of bars and pubs, which invite you to stay out until the wee hours of the morning.

Dublin Airport is the gateway to your Irish vacation, so whether you’re looking for a stylish hotel, an independent apartment or a trendy hostel, Booking.com has a perfect deal for your Dublin trip.

The Guinness storehouse was a crowd favourite! I’m not a beer drinker but I loved it! Everywhere we tried had awesome pub food and great culture/all busy with live music mid week. We visited some very beautiful parks which was also a highlight

To be honest, I was quiet disapointed.

To be honest, I was quiet disapointed. Crowded centre full of tourists, junkies, homeless and immigrants. Palestine flag on every corner. I didn't feel safe in the evening, not even in the side streets. We lived in the centre, so we didn't need any public transport (traffic jam every afternoon). Nice parks (St Stephens Green) and museums. Great pubs with kind local staff.

    NOT GOING TO LIE....

NOT GOING TO LIE.... I went for the Guinness. we didnt really do anything touristieeeee... we went to the gardens and walked around and just enjoyed Dublin in that way and our experience was great. we was here for the live music and BOY it didnt disappoint. I mean the Guinness is expensive AF. but worth it for the whole experience. we got on the plane for 40mins, jumped off got the LOCAL bus which is £2 pp all way into Dublin and guess where its drops you of????? ONLY OUTSIDE A CHEEKY WETHERSPOONS!! OI OIIIIIIIII. even though they dont sell Guinness obvs coz it would be miles cheaper the food and drinks are greatly priced. We spent the night in live bars which I couldn't stop staring BEST EVER. we then ended up in 'abra kababra' - think that's how you spell it - anyway, we not have it in England or where im from so we went in because every time I seen one I was like 'gonna reach out and grab ya. IYKYK..... its OK... nothing special. on way back to the airport we couldn't find buss ITS CASH ONLY SO BE WARE!!!! but a lovely Irish bus man said if we didnt have change he would just let us on as we didnt know where cash machine was and it charges you.. but we got it in the end. I would defo come back just not when our stay cost us £180 now its £580 WTAF.. someones on crack. BTW THE ONLY PIC IT WILL LET ME UPLOAD IS THE WETHERSPOONS.. THANK ME LATER HAHAH

Interesting and tourist friendly. Good selection of pubs and restaurants. Pavements not very friendly to the aged. I saw a few people fall into the street because the edge of the pavement is not clear / clearly demarcated. Otherwise, pavements are smooth and well maintained.

Dublin is an amazing city filled with unique history,...

Dublin is an amazing city filled with unique history, folklore, mythology, and contemporary historical tidbits. Over most European cities, it is the most wheelchair friendly and walkable city we’ve visited. If you choose to visit Dublin, book a few tours inside as well as outside the city to get the entire Irish experience.

I had established in advance with the hotel that we could leave our bags early, before check in time, but when we arrived our room was ready which was great. The location is great if visiting Dublin city centre - it was just off O'Connell Street and a couple of minutes easy walk to the Abbey Theatre, where we were headed. The staff were lovely, the beds were comfortable, the aircon kept the room at a comfortable temperature, the room was very quiet, and the shower was great. There was a safe in the room.

Central location so easy access to Dublin City Centre. Lots of buses every few minutes and a wonderful walk to local amenities. Ballsbridge is a safe and busy area. The hotel is back from the main road due to the beautiful garden and landscape. I highly recommend this area and hotel. Staff friendly and helpful. You need cash in the shape of coins for the buses. The bus was reasonable and a great service. No complaints at all. We had a family room. Plenty of space.

Location is right off Jervis Luas stop and right in the middle of city centre. This is now officially my favourite hotel in Dublin!!! It's great value for your money, the rooms are really nice and quite big, and the staff are friendly and down to earth. I've stayed in some other hotels in Dublin where the staff were downright snobbish so this was really refreshing. The facilities are spick and span just like other Motel One hotels I've stayed at. Keep the good work up :)

the location was great, especially for our first time in Ireland and Dublin. Also, the facilities are nice and there is a good. restaurant we practically lived at each day haha. The staff is friendly and super thoughtful in that they were so wonderful helping my mom who is older and has difficulty getting around quickly, and they surprised us with a sweet welcome birthday chocolates and Guinness on them because my mom and I were both celebrating our birthdays. ☺️

Staff was welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was the best we had on our entire visit in Ireland...We didn't have it the first of our two days's stay--simply tired of restaurant/hotel food. The second day, we decided to enjoy the breakfast, and we were impressed both with the breakfast room (a gem) and the buffet quality. Breakfast sausage and scrambled eggs were the best we had in Ireland!
